The standard
Authors, reviewers, editors, and contributors disclose financial ties, employment, consultancy, grants, patents, legal roles, advocacy leadership, close collaborations, personal relationships, and strong public positions relevant to the work. The disclosure window and relevance depend on the subject. Funding statements identify the source, grant or contract when available, and the funder’s role in design, data, analysis, writing, and publication.

How it works in practice
Management may include an independent reviewer, a non-conflicted decision editor, restricted data access, recusal, additional analysis, a prominent reader notice, or rejection when the conflict cannot be managed. Advertising and inactive affiliate registries are structurally separate from editorial data; future commercial links must be labeled and cannot affect ranking, evidence status, safety language, or whether a product is covered.
